The San Bernardino Superior Court may allow eligible drivers to attend traffic school; permission and provider eligibility must be confirmed for your citation before you enroll.
GoToTrafficSchool offers a self-paced online California traffic school course. The company says it reports course completion, but its provider status and acceptance for a particular San Bernardino County case were not independently confirmed in the provider directories reviewed. Do not enroll for ticket masking until the court confirms the course/provider is acceptable for your case. The course does not erase a ticket or guarantee a confidential conviction.
First steps after a ticket
- Read the citation and any reminder notice. Use the court and appearance date shown there. Chino city limits, where you live, and the agency that issued the ticket do not by themselves establish which court handles the case.
- Check the case through the San Bernardino Superior Court’s official traffic services. Use the court’s traffic page for case-related services and ticket payment information. Case lookup and payment are separate actions. If your case is not yet visible, contact the court using the number on your citation or notice; a missing online record does not extend your deadline.
- Ask the assigned court about traffic-school eligibility and the specific provider before enrolling. The court’s eligibility criteria include a moving Vehicle Code violation, no traffic-school completion within the previous 18 months, no speeding more than 25 mph over the limit, no commercial vehicle involved, no mandatory-appearance charge, and no alcohol- or drug-related citation. Eligibility is case-specific.
- Follow the court’s instructions for election, required court payments, completion deadline and reporting. Those court obligations are separate from course enrollment. Do not assume enrolling in a course responds to the citation.
- Confirm that the court received and processed completion by its deadline. The San Bernardino Superior Court says the school submits completion electronically to the DMV and the court processes it. Ask the court how to confirm that your particular case has been updated.
The court’s traffic-school instructions state that an eligible request may be granted, but also direct drivers to select a school from the California Traffic Safety Institute provider search. The court does not allow traffic-school requests through its online Ability to Pay tool.
Court information for Chino-area citations
Superior Court of California, County of San Bernardino — Traffic Division
San Bernardino County’s official court site lists traffic services and identifies the Fontana District as a location that handles traffic infractions. An older court notice states that matters from the former Chino District were moved to Fontana. Since the court’s current public location directory does not list a Chino District, do not assume the courthouse serving your case from the place where the ticket was issued. Check the citation or later notice for the assigned court and confirm with the court before traveling.
- Fontana District street address: 17780 Arrow Boulevard, Fontana, CA 92335
- Traffic information: (909) 350-9322
- Public service hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; the court lists public phone hours as 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Court holidays may affect service.
- Official court and traffic services: Fontana District | Traffic services | Traffic-school rules | Ticket payment and other options
These are court services, not GoToTrafficSchool services. Use the court’s own site for case lookup, payment, hearing requests, deadline information and case-specific permission.
What traffic school may do
In California, a qualifying traffic-school completion may allow an eligible conviction to be treated confidentially on a driver’s public DMV record. It does not erase the ticket. The San Bernardino Superior Court’s instructions describe eligibility conditions and warn that an untimely completion may not receive the intended treatment.
The court says traffic-school completion is submitted electronically by the school to the DMV and processed by the court. Give the school the correct court information, follow the completion deadline on your notice and confirm the court has processed the completion. A course certificate or provider’s report is not a substitute for responding to the citation.
GoToTrafficSchool describes its California course as online and self-paced and says progress is saved when switching devices. Those are company statements, not proof that the course will be accepted for your citation. Verify provider status and case acceptance before enrollment.
Driving and road safety in Chino
Chino’s Local Roadway Safety Plan analyzes collisions on the city roadway network, including citywide trends and locations identified for safety attention. The City says it uses the plan to guide evaluation and consider safety improvements; it is not a citation guide or a ranking of roads for drivers.
The City’s Euclid Avenue Bridge project page describes a proposed reconstruction between Pine Avenue and State Route 71, including plans for bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The City’s published timeline places the project in environmental review, with construction anticipated later and contingent on funding. Check the City project page for current status before travel.
Frequently asked questions
Does a Chino ticket automatically qualify me for traffic school?
No. The court handling your citation decides whether you qualify. Review the citation and contact the assigned court. San Bernardino County’s published criteria include violation type, prior traffic-school use, speed, commercial-vehicle involvement and mandatory-appearance status.
Is GoToTrafficSchool confirmed for my San Bernardino County case?
Not by the evidence reviewed for this page. The court directs drivers to the California Traffic Safety Institute provider search. Confirm that the provider and online course are acceptable for your case before enrolling.
Does traffic school dismiss or erase my ticket?
No. For an eligible case, successful completion may result in confidential treatment of the conviction. It does not erase the citation.
What if the ticket does not appear online?
Contact the court using the information on the citation or notice and keep following the stated deadline. A missing online record does not cancel your obligation to respond.
Can I request traffic school through the Ability to Pay tool?
The San Bernardino Superior Court says traffic school cannot be requested through that online tool. Follow the traffic-school instructions or contact the court handling your citation.
How do I know the court received my course completion?
The San Bernardino Superior Court says completion is submitted electronically and processed by the court. Contact the assigned court to confirm your case reflects completion by the required date.
Does a traffic-school course guarantee a lower insurance premium?
No. California traffic-school confidentiality and insurance pricing are different questions. The effect on a particular policy depends on applicable rules and the insurer; ask your insurer about your policy. GoToTrafficSchool’s course qualification for a particular case was not independently verified here.
Is there a Chino courthouse for traffic tickets?
The court’s current public location directory does not list a Chino District. A prior court notice says Chino District matters were moved to Fontana, but the court or location for an individual ticket should be confirmed from the citation or official notice.
