If your Franklin County citation or court order says you may take traffic school, ask the court handling your case whether it accepts GoToTrafficSchool’s specific online course before enrolling. Acceptance is not established countywide. The company describes its Georgia course as a self-paced, four-hour online course, but Georgia DDS does not accept online courses for its regulated Driver Improvement purposes, including licensing-related points reduction and reinstatement. A course does not replace your obligation to respond to the ticket by the date on your citation.

Choose the course for the right purpose

Georgia calls its regulated six-hour course Driver Improvement or Defensive Driving. DDS requires a DDS-certified school for its Driver Improvement purposes, and the state’s certified-school directory says its course must be classroom-based. GoToTrafficSchool’s Georgia product is an online course and is not verified as a DDS-certified course. Do not rely on it for DDS points reduction, license reinstatement, or another licensing-related purpose.

  • Ticket-related course: Franklin County Probate Court handles certain traffic cases. The court’s published traffic instructions do not establish that GoToTrafficSchool is accepted for a particular ticket. Contact the court using the number below and confirm acceptance, advance permission, deadline, and certificate-submission instructions before enrolling.
  • DDS Driver Improvement: Use a school listed in the Georgia DDS certified Driver Improvement school directory. The state’s rules for this program differ from a court’s case-specific decision to accept an online class.
  • Insurance: Georgia law provides for a qualifying insurance reduction under specified conditions, but GoToTrafficSchool’s Georgia online course has not been verified as qualifying. Check with your insurer before enrolling; do not assume the course will qualify or apply to every coverage.

GoToTrafficSchool also displays a Spanish-language Georgia Traffic School product. Its acceptance and suitability for a particular case are likewise unverified. The company says its online courses are self-paced and available across devices; these are company statements, not proof of court or DDS approval.

Franklin County traffic tickets: identify the court and respond

Read the citation and any later official notice to identify the court, response deadline, and whether an appearance is required. Franklin County Probate Court’s traffic page says most traffic violations may be paid online through its linked EZ Courtpay service. The county says a citation may take 7 to 10 business days from receipt to appear online. If it is still unavailable after that period, contact the court. A missing online record does not cancel the deadline on your citation.

Paying a ticket accepts the penalty and is a guilty plea. If you want to contest a case handled by Franklin County Probate Court, the county instructs you to appear at arraignment and enter a not-guilty plea. The county says a later hearing will be scheduled; requests for jury trials are transferred to Franklin County Superior Court. Follow the citation and contact the court if you need clarification. This is procedural information, not advice about what plea to enter.

The county’s traffic instructions identify some charges as requiring an appearance, including DUI and driving while suspended or withdrawn, and say other charges may also require one. Do not assume that online payment is an option for your citation.

Franklin County Probate Court — traffic matters

7085 Highway 145, Suite A, Carnesville, GA 30521. Phone: 706-384-2403.

Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. See the Probate Court page and its traffic instructions, citation lookup, and payment link.

Handles certain traffic cases and certain misdemeanors unless a jury trial is requested. Confirm that this is your court using the citation or later notice; do not infer it from your residence or where the ticket was issued.

This is a non-exhaustive contact listing. Franklin County’s official traffic page provides the listed court’s instructions; other citations may identify another court. Georgia has no centralized statewide traffic-citation search. If the cited court is not Franklin County Probate Court, use the Georgia Courts citation lookup and payment options or contact the court named on your citation. That statewide page says online availability can take 7 to 21 business days, depending on the court and service.

Course completion, points, and certificate delivery

Do not treat course enrollment or completion as a ticket response. If the court permits a course, ask whether you must obtain permission first, whether a particular provider or format is required, how the certificate must be delivered, and when it must arrive. The company says certificate delivery depends on the court’s requirements; no Franklin County-specific acceptance or reporting arrangement for GoToTrafficSchool was verified. Confirm receipt with the court rather than assuming the company’s certificate process completes your case.

For Georgia’s separate DDS points-reduction process, a qualifying Georgia resident may request reduction of up to seven points once every five years after completing the required DDS-certified course and submitting the original certificate to DDS. Completion alone does not automatically reduce points, dismiss a ticket, or reinstate a license.

Local road information

Franklin County reports responsibility for maintaining 447 miles of county roadway, including 172 miles of gravel roads and 275 miles of paved roads. The county describes maintenance work such as grading, drainage, pothole repair, signage, and tree removal. That local road mix makes it especially important to adapt speed and following distance to surface, visibility, and conditions rather than assume every route is paved. The county advises drivers not to cross flooded roads and to call 911 to report road flooding or a downed tree in the travel lane. For routine road-maintenance concerns, see the Franklin County Road Department.

Franklin County’s Road Department says Highway 106 divides the territories used by its two motor-grader crews. Its route-maintenance information is not a hazard ranking or a report of traffic enforcement. For current state-road and travel information, consult Georgia DOT’s maps and travel resources. No county-specific camera operation or camera-ticket course rule was verified for this guide.

Frequently asked questions

Does Franklin County Probate Court accept GoToTrafficSchool?

That has not been verified as a general county policy. Ask the court handling your citation whether it accepts the specific online course for your case, and confirm any advance-permission and certificate requirements before enrolling.

Can I use GoToTrafficSchool for DDS points reduction or license reinstatement?

Do not rely on it for those purposes. DDS requires its regulated Driver Improvement course to be taken through a DDS-certified school; the state directory describes that course as classroom-based. GoToTrafficSchool’s online course was not verified as DDS-certified.

How long should I wait for a Franklin County citation to appear online?

The county’s Probate Court traffic page says to allow at least 7 to 10 business days from receipt. If the citation remains unavailable after that period, contact the court. Keep following the citation’s deadline even if the online record is missing.

Does paying a ticket mean I have contested it?

No. Georgia’s ticket guidance explains that payment accepts the penalty and is a guilty plea. For a Franklin County Probate Court case, the county says a person contesting the case must appear at arraignment and enter a not-guilty plea.

Will finishing traffic school automatically remove points or dismiss my ticket?

No. Court permission, the court’s case disposition, and DDS points-reduction rules are separate matters. Confirm what applies to your citation with the court and what applies to your license with DDS.

Could a course reduce my auto-insurance premium?

Georgia law provides for a qualifying reduction under specific conditions, but this specific online GoToTrafficSchool course has not been verified as qualifying. Ask your insurer about the course and the policy coverage before enrolling.
