Short answer?
Usually, yes.
At least that was my experience.
The first time I looked at a driver improvement course, I opened a few websites, looked at the prices, and thought, "There's no way I'm spending my Saturday sitting in a classroom if I don't have to."
That was honestly my thought process.
The online course wasn't just cheaper. It was easier.
No driving.
No finding the building.
No sitting in a room with strangers for half the day.
I could do it from home and be done with it.
I think that's why a lot of people end up choosing online courses.
Not because they're excited about learning online.
Because life is busy.
Work is busy.
Family is busy.
And if you're taking a course, chances are you didn't put it on your bucket list.
One thing I've learned is that the course price is only part of the cost.
People look at a classroom course and see the registration fee.
They don't think about gas, travel time, taking time off work, or giving up a weekend afternoon.
That stuff adds up.
Now, if you're taking a course because you're hoping for a safe driver discount or some type of online insurance reduction, don't assume every insurance company handles it the same way.
Just call and ask.
Seriously.
That phone call will probably answer more questions than an hour of searching online.
For most people, though, the decision comes down to convenience.
And it's hard to beat sitting at home in sweatpants instead of driving across town to a classroom.
