How The Course Works

GoToTrafficSchool.com is proud to be the exclusive provider of online traffic school for the Baton Rouge City Prosecutor's Pre-Trial Traffic Diversion Program. Please read the following program information carefully to find out how the program works and whether you are eligible to enroll and change your moving violation to a non-moving violation.

Determining Your Eligibility

You must meet all of the following criteria in order to enroll in the course:

  • You are at least 17 years of age
  • You have not completed this course within the past 2 years
  • You have at least 10 days until your scheduled court date
  • Your moving violation is eligible for the program.

GoToTrafficSchool.com will cross-reference the personal and ticket information you enter during online registration with eligibility information provided by the Baton Rouge City Court. If a matching record is found and your moving violation is eligible to be changed to a non-moving violation, you may complete registration. If a matching record cannot be found, you may not complete registration.

Cost to Attend

Once your eligibility has been verified, you will be required to pay the following costs in order to complete your registration and start the course:

  • GoToTrafficSchool.com course fee = $35 + shipping
  • City Parish fee = $50 + processing
  • Baton Rouge City Court fine and costs = $119 + processing
  • Secondary Violation(s) fee(s) = only if applicable

As shown above, you will pay a reduced fine and cost ($119 instead of $138) for a single eligible moving violation that you want to change to a non-moving violation. If you have other moving violations and/or non-moving violations associated with the same ticket, you are also required to pay those amounts in full at the time of registration. If you fail to complete the course or request a refund prior to completing the course, you will receive a refund of all City and Court fees. The GoToTrafficSchool.com course fee is non-refundable.

Course Completion Deadline

You must complete all lessons of the online course no later than 10 days before your court due date. From the date of sign-up, you will have 30 days to complete the course. If you do not complete the course within this time, your account will be disabled. If this happens, you are legally required to appear in court on your scheduled court due date.

IMPORTANT: If you fail to complete the course AND fail to subsequently appear in court on the assigned court date, then a warrant for your arrest may be issued. To have this warrant recalled, you must appear in court before a Judge.

Final Examination

At the end of the course, you must pass a multiple choice final exam with a score of 80% or better (or 20 correct answers out of 25 questions).

  • If you pass the final exam, GoToTrafficSchool.com will send your verification of completion to the Baton Rouge Parish Attorney's Pretrial Diversion Division.
  • If you fail the final exam, you are allowed to re-take it for a $5.00 retest surcharge. If you fail on yoFur second attempt, you can re-take it for a third and final time for another $5.00 retest surcharge.
  • If you fail the final exam for the third and final time, your account will be disabled and marked as "failed" unless you re-enroll within 24 hours.

IMPORTANT: If you fail to complete the course AND fail to subsequently appear in court on the assigned court date, then a warrant for your arrest may be issued. To have this warrant recalled, you must appear in court before a Judge.

Re-Enrolling in the Course

If you fail the course and, assuming that you have at least 10 days until your court date, you will have the option to re-enroll and start again from the beginning of the course. The re-enrollment fee is $15, as the Court and City-Parish fees have already been collected.

If you have to re-enroll in the program after failing it the first time, you will be required to have your identity verified prior to taking the final exam and must pay an identity verification surcharge fee of $14.95.

  • Experian will draw 5 questions from your credit history and the student must answer at least 3 correctly. This process will not have a negative effect on your credit history.
  • If after searching its database Experian cannot verify your identity, you must submit an online affidavit swearing that you are taking the final exam without the assistance of any other person. This form must be signed electronically for processing and verification purposes.

IMPORTANT: If you fail to complete the course AND fail to subsequently appear in court on the assigned court date, then a warrant for your arrest may be issued. To have this warrant recalled, you must appear in court before a Judge.

Refund Policy

You are not eligible for a refund of any kind once:

  • You have started the course.
  • Your account has been disabled for being within 10 days of your court due date.
  • You have not completed the course within 30 days of the date of your registration.
  • You fail the final examination and do not re-enroll in the course within 24-hours.

The City and Court fees associated with your ticket will be refunded if you fail to complete the course or if you request a refund prior to completing the course.
